Pastor Pulse Privacy Policy

Effective September 29, 2026

Who we are

Pastor Pulse is operated by the North/East Texas District Church of the Nazarene. You can reach us at districtofficenaz@netxnaz.net.

Information we collect

Account information. Your name, email address, church name, and phone number.

Information you choose to submit. Monthly check-in responses, prayer requests and responses, messages, profile details (such as family members and month/day birthdays and anniversaries), personality assessment answers, and your preferred language.

Basic technical data. Sign-in records and delivery records for emails and text messages, which are needed to operate the app securely.

Google Sign-In

If you sign in with Google, we receive only your name, email address, and profile picture. We use this solely to create and sign in to your Pastor Pulse account. We do not access Gmail, Drive, Calendar, contacts, or any other Google data.

Pastor Pulse’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

How we use information

We use your information to provide the check-in and prayer features, to let the District Superintendent and designated district leaders provide pastoral care, to send reminders and encouragement by email or text, and to translate non-English entries into English so district leadership can respond.

Who can see what. Monthly check-in responses and confidential prayer requests are visible only to you and the District Superintendent. Prayer requests are shown in the district Prayer Room only when you mark them as shareable with the district. In the pastor directory, your name, church, and phone number are always visible to other pastors; personal details such as family names, birthdays, and anniversaries appear only if you choose to share them, and can otherwise be limited to the District Superintendent. Private prayer responses are visible only to the person who made the request.

Service providers

We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising. We share it only with service providers that operate the app on our behalf: Supabase (hosting and database), Lovable (app hosting and AI translation), Resend (email), and Twilio (text messages). Mobile phone numbers and SMS consent are never shared with third parties for marketing purposes (see Text messaging below).

Text messaging (SMS)

If you provide your mobile number and opt in, you may receive check-in reminders and pastoral care messages from Pastor Pulse. Message frequency varies (typically a few messages per month). Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of using Pastor Pulse.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service or message delivery, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

Data retention and deletion

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account and data (including data received from Google) by emailing districtofficenaz@netxnaz.net. We will respond within 30 days.

Security

Data is stored with access controls so that only authorized district leadership can view pastoral care information. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect what is shared here with the care it deserves.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted here with a new effective date. Questions? Email districtofficenaz@netxnaz.net.
